Puenta la Reina to Estella

22km today.  Mostly wallkng on tracks and laneways.  Another day with berrys lining the pathways and we picked and ate some blackberries as we went along.  We walked through a pretty town called Cirauqui where we stopped for coffee.  We stopped briefly again at lorca where we had a coke.  We seem to need a coke everyday which is funny because I didn't like coke until this week.  Well not without Bacardi in it anyway and it's been ages since I've had one of those.  It threatened to rain on and off for ages before the skies fianlly openend and down it poured with thunder and lightning.  Fortunately the thunder and lightning stopped  but the rain kept on for quite a while. As we walked throught he rain we came across another little village called Villatuerta where we heard loud music coming from a cul de sac.  As we walked past we could see people cooking under tarps and there was obviously a function of some sorts going on. They backoned us over to take shelter with them and offered us wine and cider both of which were very nice.  I wondered if it was a family function but I gatherd it was a sort of street party but couldn't quite make out why.  They were cooking something in a massive pot that was bubbling away on a big gas ring and frying meat in two massive wok type things also on gas rings.  I got a bit of information about what they were cooking and they were pleased that we were interested and tried to tell us all about it.  I would have loved to stay longer but I think if we had stopped for anymore time than we did we would have had trouble getting started again.  As it was the last 4 km into Estella seemed to go on forever.  They waved us goodbye with shouts of buen Camino.  We hear that a lot each day as it is customary for pilgrims to geet each other with "hola" and "buen camino".
Finally arrived in Estella and got settled in a Pension for the night.  We found a restaurant and I had lamb which was fantastic with a sloppy mashed potato (potatoes are very popular in Spain) and I had a salad before the lamb.  Seems you have the salad first. They don't have it all on the same plate like we do.  So two nights now with vegetables other than just potatoes.  Finally!  The night before we had a buffet dinner which was really nice.
We did our washing as soon as we arrived but as it has been raining it isn't getting dry.  We will pin the damp bits to our backpacks to hopfully dry them as we go.  That is if it doesn't continue to rain.
We haven't been able to get wifi here so this post will arrive next time it is available.  This is the first time in a week we haven't had any and that is much better than I expected.
